Paris is famous for its shops, from ‘Fauchon’s (the millionaire’s supermarket) at Place de la Madeline, to its colourful open-air markets. My favourite shopping experience is still to simply wander along the banks of the Seine, admiring the various book stalls. These timeless landmarks feature all manner of reading materials and artwork, and occasionally, on a hot afternoon, a sleeping resident.
