BARB WOOD HAS VISITED PARIS FIVE TIMES TO STUDY, DRAW AND EXHIBIT.
THESE ARE HER BEST DRAWINGS, WITH EXCERPTS FROM HER JOURNAL.

"Dusk at Petite Palais"

Pen and ink watercolour original
Drawn on location, in Paris.
With 100% rag backing and mat.
$1250            approx. 16"x20"

“May 30th, Petite Palais: a creation of indisputable charm. I finally found a spot in this overly-stimulating city: a lovely chair, out of the wind, and accompanied by several cheerful chirping (in French) sparrows. The rich ornamentation looks good enough to eat. Exciting deep mauve shadows. Fabulous exhibit of impressionists within. Met charming ancient guard, complete with black beret!”

"Late Evening, Hotel de Sens"

Pen and ink watercolour original
Drawn on location, in Paris.
With 100% rag backing and mat.
$1100            approx. 20"x16"

"May 20: The elegant & fortified "Hotel de Sens" mysteriously called to me, begging to be drawn. She has a rich history of intrigue and scandal. Henri IV's wife resided here, and couldn’t get her carriage around the huge fig tree, so they had it removed: hence :“Rue du Figuier”. Rosy sunset at 9.”
