Artist’s work presented in Japan
(Vancouver) – Vancouver artist Barb Wood was selected by the City of Burnaby to create an original work of art to be presented as a gift to its sister city of Kushiro, Japan.

Burnaby and Kushiro have enjoyed ‘sister city’ status for 40 years. Barb Wood and her artwork were sent to Japan to present the original pen and ink and watercolour. Signed prints were given to councillors and other dignitaries.
 Wood was also commissioned to create a special commemorative coin for the City of Burnaby. It was first presented to Japanese delegates and will continue to be used by the Mayor’s office.
