Vancouver

The Vancouver that many of us grew up in, or came to maturity in, seems like a lost world. Many of the landmarks that dotted our streetscapes are gone forever. Barb was fortunate to be commissioned by Van City to produce the art for their calendar for 1984. This assignment captured 12 of the smaller buildings which make up key character elements of twentieth century Vancouver such as Hodson Manor and Glen Brae, now Canuck House. In 2001 Van City hired her again and she added 12 images of the landmark corner stores from Metro Vancouver. In addition to these favorites, Barb’s pen captured many of Vancouver’s favorite landmark buildings such as the Hotel Vancouver, The Marine Building and The Vancouver Rowing Club.
